A coffee shop app with mobile order and rewards

An independent cafe can have its own mobile order and rewards app like Starbucks, for $99 a month and $399 setup with no commission. Nomback builds it under your cafe's name: order ahead, a stamp card toward a free drink, a monthly coffee club, and push notifications for the afternoon lull.

How it works

  1. We load your drinks, sizes, milks and syrups, and food, in about two weeks.
  2. Put the QR code on the counter and cups: order ahead, earn a stamp.
  3. Push a deal at 2 p.m. when it's quiet, and sell a coffee club for steady monthly money.

What the big chains learned

At Starbucks, Mobile Order and Pay was 33% of U.S. company-operated transactions in its third fiscal quarter of 2026, with 35.8 million active Rewards members who accounted for 59% of U.S. tender dollars (Starbucks). At Dutch Bros, over two-thirds of transactions came through its rewards program in early 2025 (World Coffee Portal).

Coffee is the most habitual purchase there is. The cafe that's on someone's home screen gets the morning order.

A coffee club, priced out

Panera's Sip Club is $14.99 a month and, from August 2026, capped at 30 drinks a month (NRN). An independent can run a smaller version. Example: $29 a month for one drip coffee a day.

MembersMonthly incomeStripe cost
40$1,160about $46
80$2,320about $91

Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ on $29 is $1.14. Members tend to add a pastry or upgrade the drink, and that's the margin.

The stamp card, without the paper

Paper punch cards get lost and copied. In the app the stamp is added when the order is paid, the reward is the one you choose, and a push deal reaches everyone with the app when you want them back.

Questions owners ask

How much does a coffee shop app cost?

Nomback is $99 a month and $399 setup with no commission. Card processing through Stripe is 2.9% + 30 cents.

Can customers customize drinks?

Yes. Sizes, milks, syrups and extra shots go in as options with your prices.

Can I run a monthly coffee club?

Yes. You set the perk and the price, and members are billed monthly.

Is it like the Starbucks app?

It does the parts that matter to an independent: order ahead, pay, earn stamps, and get your push deals. It's in the App Store under your cafe's name.

What about small orders and card fees?

Stripe's 30 cents is a bigger share of a $4 coffee. A coffee club or a minimum for mobile orders helps.

How fast can I launch?

About two weeks.
