Nomback pricing: every fee in one place

Nomback costs $99 a month plus a one-time $399 setup for a restaurant's own iPhone and Android ordering app, with no commission and no per-order fee. A website alone is $79 a month plus $149 setup, and the app and website together are $129 a month plus $399 setup. The only other costs are paid to third parties: Apple's developer account at $99 a year, Google Play's one-time $25 registration, and card processing through Stripe at 2.9% + 30 cents per card order. There is no contract, so a restaurant can cancel any month. In the first year, the app plan comes to $1,711 before card fees. The app accounts are in the restaurant's name, so the app stays the restaurant's.

How much does Nomback cost?

Nomback has three plans, all month to month with no commission on orders.

PlanMonthlyOne-time setup
Ordering app (iPhone and Android)$99$399
Website with menu, hours, map and call button$79$149
App and website$129$399

For comparison, DoorDash takes 15% to 30% of each delivery order instead of a flat fee (DoorDash pricing).

What does the $99 a month include?

The $99 a month covers the restaurant's own app in the App Store and Google Play with its name, logo, photos and menu, online ordering for pickup (and delivery with the restaurant's own drivers), a digital stamp card with the reward the restaurant picks, push notifications to everyone who has the app, hosting, menu and price changes whenever asked, bug fixes, and app updates when Apple or Google change something. Bag insert cards with a QR code to the app are included too. Anthony's Pizzeria in Allentown runs on it (App Store).

What other fees are there besides Nomback?

Three fees go to other companies, not Nomback. Apple charges $99 a year for the developer account the app is published under (Apple). Google charges a one-time $25 to register a Google Play developer account (Google). Card payments on app orders go through Stripe at 2.9% + 30 cents per successful card charge (Stripe). Commission on orders is $0.

Is there a contract with Nomback?

No. Every Nomback plan is month to month and can be cancelled any month. The Apple and Google accounts are in the restaurant's name, so the app listing belongs to the restaurant (Apple's developer program is $99 a year per account, Apple).

How long does it take to get the app?

The restaurant fills out a form with its menu, logo, photos and hours, which takes about five minutes. After the $399 setup, a preview link arrives in 5 to 7 business days, and the app is usually live in the App Store in about two weeks. Google's review for a new Android app can take longer than Apple's, so the Android version may go live a little later. A restaurant can also get a free preview before paying anything. Live example: Anthony's Pizzeria on the App Store.

What does each plan cost in the first year?

Everything a restaurant pays in year one, to Nomback, Apple and Google. Math: setup + 12 months + Apple's $99 + Google's $25 (the website plan needs neither store account). Card processing is not included because it depends on sales.

PlanSetup12 monthsApple + GoogleYear one total

For scale: a restaurant doing $5,000 a month on DoorDash at 25% pays about $15,000 a year in commission. See where the break-even is in the online ordering guide or run your numbers in the commission calculator.
