How to add online ordering to your restaurant website

You can add online ordering to the restaurant website you already have in three ways: link an Order button to an ordering page, paste one line of code that opens an ordering window on your site, or rebuild the site on a platform with ordering. Nomback's order button is one line of code and opens your own commission-free ordering app.

How it works

  1. Pick your ordering system and get it set up with your menu.
  2. Paste the button code into your site, or point your existing Order link at it.
  3. Set the same link as your preferred ordering link on Google.

What it costs

Nomback planMonthlyOne-time setup
Your own ordering and rewards app (iPhone and Android)$99$399
App and website$129$399
Website only$79$149

No commission on any order and no fee added to your customers. Card payments go through Stripe at 2.9% + 30¢. Apple charges $99 a year and Google $25 once for the developer accounts, which are in your name. Month to month, and live in about two weeks. Full pricing.

The one line of code

<script src="https://nomback.com/embed.js" data-nomback="your-id"></script>

This is the line Nomback restaurants paste before the closing body tag, or into the custom code box in Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, Weebly or WordPress:

It adds an Order online button that opens your app's ordering in a window over your page. Any existing link pointed at #order opens it too. Full options are on the order button page.

Why bother when DoorDash is one click?

Because your customers would rather order from you. In DoorDash's own 2021 survey, 43% preferred ordering delivery directly from the restaurant's site or app versus 27% through third-party apps, and for pickup it was 38% versus 10% (Restaurant Business). If your site's Order button goes to DoorDash, you pay 15% to 30% on customers who came looking for you.

Then fix Google: you can mark your own ordering link as preferred for pickup and delivery in your Business Profile (Google).

Questions owners ask

Can I add online ordering without a new website?

Yes. One line of code adds an order button to the site you have, or you can point your existing Order link at your ordering page.

Does it work on Wix or Squarespace?

Yes. Paste the line into the custom code area. It works on any site that allows a script.

What does it cost?

The order button opens your Nomback app's ordering, which is $99 a month and $399 setup with no commission.

Will customers leave my site?

Not with the embedded button. It opens over your page, and closing it puts them back where they were.

How do I change the Order link on Google?

In your Google Business Profile, add your ordering link and mark it as preferred for pickup and delivery.

Can I try it first?

Yes. The order button page on nomback.com runs a live demo of the button.
