Square Online alternative: when a free order page is not enough

Square online ordering is free on Square's free plan, with 3.3% + 30 cents per order, so it's the cheapest web order page there is. Nomback is the alternative when you want more than a page: your own App Store app with a stamp card, memberships and push deals, for $99 a month and $399 setup, with no commission.

How it works

  1. Keep Square for your counter if you like it; Nomback runs next to it.
  2. We build your app in about two weeks with your menu and the reward you choose.
  3. Regulars order from your icon on their phone, and you can reach them with a push.

Square vs Nomback

Square merged its online and restaurant price lists in 2026 into one ladder: Free, Plus ($49 a month per location) and Premium ($149) (Square pricing).

The math on 300 orders at $30

On Square's free plan, 300 orders at $30 cost $387 a month in processing (300 x $1.29). On Nomback it's $351 in Stripe fees plus $99, so $450. Square is $63 a month cheaper for the page alone.

Here's how the $99 pays for itself. If push deals and the stamp card bring back 3 extra $30 orders a month, that's $90 in sales. Moving 10 regulars a month off DoorDash at 30% saves $90 in commission. Most owners use it for the second part.

Square is the right answer when

You're on Square already, you just need people to order online, and you have no DoorDash problem to solve. Then Square's free ordering page is hard to beat. Nomback is for owners who are losing 15% to 30% on regulars through delivery apps and want them back in an app with their own name on it.

Questions owners ask

Is Square online ordering free?

Yes, on Square's free plan. You pay 3.3% + 30 cents per online order, or 2.9% + 30 cents on Plus ($49 a month) and Premium ($149).

Can I use Nomback with Square?

Yes, side by side. Nomback orders come to a tablet or kitchen printer; there isn't a Square integration.

Does Square give me my own app?

Square gives you an online ordering page, not your own listing in the App Store and Google Play.

Why pay $99 when Square is free?

For the app on the customer's phone, push notifications, the stamp card and monthly memberships, which are what bring regulars back without a delivery app.

Does Square do delivery?

Square can send orders to on-demand couriers like DoorDash for a fee. Nomback delivery is with your own drivers today, and DoorDash Drive is coming soon.

What does Nomback cost in total?

$99 a month and $399 setup, plus Apple's $99 a year, Google's $25 once, and Stripe processing.
