How to remove your restaurant from DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats

None of the three apps has a self-serve "remove my restaurant" button. For DoorDash, email Merchant Support at mxpsupport@doordash.com or use the Merchant Portal help form. For Grubhub and Uber Eats, contact their restaurant support and say you never agreed to be listed. The law is on your side in several places. California requires delivery apps to have your written agreement, and since 2025 to remove your name, menu and logo within three business days of your request. New York City and New York State require a written agreement before listing you, and the FTC ordered Grubhub in December 2024 to stop listing restaurants it has no agreement with.

Remove your restaurant from DoorDash

DoorDash's help article says only to contact Merchant Support (DoorDash Help). Email mxpsupport@doordash.com or use the help form in the Merchant Portal, from the email on your DoorDash account if you have one. Ask them to deactivate the store and remove the listing, and keep the reply. If DoorDash lists you without ever signing you up, say so in the first line.

Remove your restaurant from Grubhub

On December 17, 2024 the FTC and the Illinois Attorney General took action against Grubhub; among other things, Grubhub must stop listing restaurants it has no agreement with and list them only with their consent (FTC). Contact Grubhub's restaurant support, state that you have no agreement with Grubhub, and ask for the listing to come down.

Remove your restaurant from Uber Eats

Uber doesn't publish a removal article for restaurants. Contact Uber Eats support and ask for the listing to be removed. In a Chicago settlement, Uber took down Chicago restaurants it had listed without consent in 2021 and agreed not to list restaurants without consent in the future (City of Chicago).

Laws that require your consent

WhereRule
CaliforniaNo delivery from a restaurant without an agreement expressly authorizing it; since Jan 1, 2025, remove the name, address, logo or menu within three business days of a request (B&P Code §22599)

New York StateNo listing, advertising or selling a restaurant's food without a valid agreement; up to $1,000 per violation, each day separate (GBL §391-v)

Name the law in your request if you're in one of these places. This page isn't legal advice.

After you leave the apps

Update the Order Online link on your Google listing so customers land on your own ordering instead (how to change it), and tell regulars where to order. What you were paying: DoorDash fees, Grubhub fees, Uber Eats fees.

Do it in writing

Email, not a phone call, so you have a record of when you asked.
